Do you want to know how we at LCV Real Estate take care of your personal data? Then be sure to read this privacy statement. We explain which personal data we collect and process from you as a natural person, why, for how long, and how you have control over it.

In this privacy statement, we always refer to your data as a customer, potential customer, former customer, or as another data subject, e.g., beneficiary, contact person in a company, business partner, etc. Regardless of your capacity, LCV Real Estate always handles your personal data as a natural person with the same care. This privacy policy also applies when you visit our offices, entities, websites, exhibition stand, etc.

When does this privacy policy apply and who is responsible for it?

This privacy statement applies to the processing, in particular the collection, management, and use, of your personal data as a natural person by LCV Real Estate (hereinafter 'LCV Real Estate').

All personal data is managed by L.C.V. NV, Kouter 3, 9790 Wortegem-Petegem.

Which data is processed?

By personal data, we mean all information about an identified or identifiable natural person. This concerns data that you have provided to us yourself, data that we assign to you for the use of our products and/or services, data that we obtain through the use of our products and/or services, or data that we have received through third parties.

This includes data to identify you (name, address, customer number, account number...), to contact you (address, telephone or mobile number, fax, email, username, identification data about the devices you use...), and to serve you correctly (which products or services you use, preferences and interests, activity, feedback...).

We use the lead generation service from Leadinfo B.V., Rotterdam, Netherlands. The tool recognizes company visits to our website based on IP addresses and shows us publicly available information, such as company names or addresses. In addition, Leadinfo places two first-party cookies to evaluate user behavior on our website and the tool processes domains from form submissions (e.g., “Leadinfo.com”) to correlate IP addresses with companies and improve services. For what purposes do we process your data?

Personal data is processed for various purposes. However, we ensure that we only collect and process data that is adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed.

Thus, we use your personal data:

• To comply with our legal obligations;
• If we have received your consent for this. You are, of course, free to do so at any time. If you wish to withdraw your consent, you can contact us through the usual channels;
• For the execution of an agreement and/or to be able to assess whether a contract or service can be concluded;
• If we have a legitimate interest in doing so (processing for research purposes, dispute management and legal risks, complaint management and after-sales service, exercising and safeguarding our rights, ...). In doing so, we ensure that in any case the balance between those legitimate interests and the impact on your privacy is not disturbed.
• For direct marketing. If you do not wish this at all, we explain below how you can exercise your right to object to this.

Non-targeted atmospheric images (both photos and films) may be taken at events organized or sponsored by us. Some of these images will be used in our newsletter and on social media. The photos will be stored on our servers for 5 years.

How do we secure your data?

Internally, at LCV Real Estate, we take the necessary technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, both in our offices and via our websites. For example, we use the necessary firewalls that secure external access, and a stringent password policy is applied. We ensure that our employees and processors only have access to the necessary data they need to perform their duties and that they handle this data securely and confidentially.

However, we cannot be held responsible if, despite the measures taken, incidents occur at these processors, in accordance with applicable legislation.

Transfer to third parties?

LCV Real Estate commits not to sell, rent, or transfer personal data to third parties, companies, or individuals.

For some aspects of our business operations, we rely on an external processor. This means, among other things, that for certain tasks and/or services, we are sometimes obliged to temporarily transfer data to an external processor. You can, however, be assured that if we do this, we always ensure that your data is handled and managed with the necessary confidentiality, in a secure manner, and with due care.

Regarding the international transfer of personal data, we adhere to the level of protection in accordance with the requirements set out in European regulations.

Retention period?

Personal data may, of course, not be stored longer than necessary for the purposes for which they are processed. The retention period can therefore vary depending on the purpose. In any case, LCV Real Estate will not store your personal data longer than is necessary for the realization of the purposes for which those data were collected, or as long as the law obliges us to do so.

Certain data of former customers may be used for the necessary period after the termination of the contract to identify the former customer, for example, in the context of our legal liability as a contractor and thus also due to, for instance, legal, tax, or accounting necessity. These archived data are, of course, only accessible to a limited extent.

What are your rights?

If your personal data is processed, you have a number of rights. We list them for you below.

1. Right of access

As a data subject, you can request access at any time to the data we process about you. If you wish to exercise your right of access, you can do so via the channels listed below. To exercise your right of access and to prevent any unauthorized disclosure of your personal data, you must provide us with proof of your identity.

2. Right to rectification

It may happen that certain data that LCV Real Estate has stored about you is no longer up-to-date/correct. You can therefore always ask us to correct or complete this personal data, but you must first provide us with proof of your identity as further explained here.

3. Right to data portability

You have the right to request that your personal data, which you yourself have provided to us, be transferred to yourself or directly to a third party. We note that the applicable privacy legislation provides for a number of restrictions, so that this right of portability does not apply to all data.

4. Right to object

If you do not agree with the way LCV Real Estate processes certain personal data, for example in the context of direct marketing, profiling, you can object to this. For this, please contact us via the usual channels listed below. Your objection will be granted unless there are compelling reasons not to do so, e.g., legal obligation or performance of the contract.

5. Right to have your data erased

You not only have the right to have incomplete, incorrect, inappropriate or outdated personal data changed, you also have the right to have it deleted. You can contact the Privacy department for this. Please note that the applicable privacy legislation provides for a number of exceptions.

On the LCV Real Estate websites, we use cookies. Because we value your privacy and wish to make your visit to our websites as pleasant as possible, we find it important that you know how and why we use these cookies.

Any request for access, correction, deletion, etc., of data must clearly state what you specifically wish to access, correct, delete, etc. Your request must be signed and dated and include a copy of the front and back of your identity card. If these conditions are met, LCV Real Estate will handle your request as quickly as possible and inform you about it.

For completeness, we inform you that, should we not respond to your question or if our answer does not meet your expectations, you always have the right to file a complaint with the competent government authorities.
