Savaan District

The former Makro site in Eke, in the municipality of Nazareth-De Pinte, is set for a new future. Following Makro's closure at the end of 2022, work is underway on the redevelopment of this well-known location along the E17. The ambition is to create a vibrant place for businesses, innovation, and green spaces.

The site is located on Savaanstraat in Eke, near the N60 and the E17. Savaanstraat and Begoniastraat connect the surrounding industrial area to the N60. This location forms an important basis for the further development of the site.

The development concept targets SMEs, craft enterprises, and innovative business activities, complemented by supporting functions such as retail and leisure activities. LCV Real Estate is collaborating with Colruyt Group Real Estate, Areôs, and the local administration for this project.

The redevelopment offers opportunities to thoroughly green the highly paved site. The announced plans focus on depaving, water infiltration, permeable parking, and green roofs. The aim is to reduce the paved area from nearly 90% to approximately 50% of the site. These development ambitions are to be further elaborated.

Delhaize has announced a new supermarket in a section of the former Makro site. The store will have approximately 2,150 m² of retail space and a Collect pick-up point for online orders. The opening is scheduled for November 2026. The provisions for the definitive redevelopment will be determined later.
